In Men in Trees season 2 episode 4, titled "I Wood If I Could," Marin and Jack's honeymoon is cut short when word reaches them that the town of Elmo is being hit by a devastating storm. Worried about their friends and colleagues, they quickly head back to town to lend a hand in the recovery efforts.

Meanwhile, Patrick is struggling with his new role as mayor, feeling the weight of the town's problems on his shoulders. Seeking advice from his predecessor, Buzz, Patrick begins to realize he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

Back in town, Annie is dealing with a crisis of her own when the bookstore's roof collapses in the storm. Desperate to save her business, she turns to a local carpenter named Cash, hoping he can help her rebuild. However, their working relationship is complicated by their mutual attraction to one another.

Elsewhere, Sara is feeling frustrated with her new job at the local paper, where she is forced to cover mundane stories instead of the hard-hitting investigative journalism she had hoped to do. But when she discovers a strange new species of tree in the woods outside of town, she sees an opportunity to prove herself as a serious journalist.

As the town struggles to recover from the storm and everyone deals with their own personal issues, Marin and Jack must also confront some unexpected news that threatens to change their lives forever.
