As Jane tries to move on from her relationship with Michael, she decides to go out with a colleague from work, Chris. However, after an awkward date, she realizes that she may not be ready to move on just yet.
Meanwhile, Jake is still struggling with his feelings for Jo, and turns to Alison for advice. However, when she suggests that he should make a move on Jo, he realizes that it may be too late.
Amanda finds herself attracted to a new tenant in the building, Sandy. However, when she learns that Sandy is a woman, she struggles to come to terms with her own sexuality.
Billy's ex-girlfriend, Allison, shows up in town, and he is torn between his feelings for her and his commitment to Alison.
As the residents of Melrose Place navigate their complicated love lives, they also have to deal with the aftermath of a break-in at the building. When a tenant's apartment is ransacked, suspicion falls on one of the other residents, leading to tension and mistrust between them.
Throughout the episode, the characters struggle with loneliness and the difficulty of finding meaningful connections with others.
