McCloud is a classic American police procedural drama that aired from 1970 to 1977. It focused on the adventures of Deputy Marshal Sam McCloud, who was originally from Taos, New Mexico, but transferred to the NYPD. In season 2 episode 3, titled "Somebody's Out to Get Jennie," McCloud is faced with yet another challenging case to solve.

The episode begins with McCloud and his partner Chris Coughlin investigating a series of strange incidents involving a pop singer named Jennie Sheldon. Jennie has been receiving a series of threatening letters and phone calls from an unknown stalker who seems to be fixated on her. Despite the constant harassment, Jennie has been trying to continue with her music career, but it is clear that the stalker is getting increasingly aggressive.

As the investigation unfolds, McCloud and Coughlin discover that Jennie's stalker is not just some random fan, but someone who has a personal vendetta against her. Jennie's ex-husband, a former baseball player named Hank Sheldon, has just been released from prison after serving several years for embezzlement. Hank blames Jennie for his downfall and is convinced that she was responsible for his conviction.

Hank's hatred towards Jennie quickly becomes apparent as he is seen spreading lies about her to the press and even physically attacking her manager. McCloud and Coughlin soon realize that Hank is likely behind the stalker incidents and they work tirelessly to gather enough evidence to build a case against him.

Meanwhile, Jennie's career continues to suffer as a result of the harassment. Her record label eventually decides to drop her from their roster, citing concerns over her safety. However, Jennie refuses to let the stalker and her ex-husband destroy her dreams and decides to hold a benefit concert to raise awareness and funds for victims of stalking.

The concert provides a perfect opportunity for Hank to make his move and McCloud and Coughlin are on high alert to prevent any harm from coming to Jennie. However, just as they suspected, Hank shows up at the event and attempts to kidnap Jennie in a violent confrontation that leaves everyone on edge.

In the end, McCloud and Coughlin are able to apprehend Hank and bring him to justice for his crimes. Jennie is finally able to move on with her life and continue her music career without the constant threat of danger hanging over her.

Overall, "Somebody's Out to Get Jennie" is a thrilling episode that showcases the intelligence and intuition of McCloud as he navigates a complex case that involves personal vendettas, stalking, and violence. It also highlights the realities of being a public figure and the dangers that come with fame.
