Ep 24. A Little Culture

Maya & Miguel season 1 episode 24 is titled "A Little Culture". In the episode, Maya and Miguel are tasked with creating a cultural presentation for their school's heritage fair. They decide to focus on their Mexican heritage and enlist the help of their Abuela Elena to teach them more about Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.
As they begin to plan their presentation, Maya and Miguel realize they don't know as much about their culture as they thought. Abuela Elena teaches them about the significance of the holiday and they visit a nearby museum to learn more about traditional Mexican art and artifacts.
Meanwhile, their classmates are also busy preparing their own presentations for the heritage fair. One group focuses on their Indian heritage and performs a traditional dance, while another group showcases their Korean culture with a display of traditional clothing.
As the day of the heritage fair arrives, Maya and Miguel are nervous but excited to share their newfound knowledge with their classmates. They present a colorful display of Dia de los Muertos artwork and explain the traditions and customs behind the holiday. Their classmates are impressed and interested in learning more about Mexican culture.
The episode concludes with Maya and Miguel realizing the importance of embracing and celebrating their cultural heritage, as well as the importance of learning about other cultures as well.
