Ep 5. Intelligent Design: Part 1

After seven years of ducking the question, Lewis and Hobson are embarking on a relationship, but the Oxford detective has a new mystery to solve. A former don is murdered on the night of his release from prison, having served a sentence for causing death by dangerous driving. Richard Seager has been crushed to death by a Jaguar Mark 2, his body having been found by his wife Martha. Martha insists that Rachel Cliff, the sister of Seager's victim, is the killer. Lewis and Hathaway visit Rachel, who claims that she spent the night at Benison College with Adam Tibbit. Investigations at the college reveal that Seager not only had major disagreements with the provost but also was preparing to divorce Martha. The plot thickens when forensics show that a piece of hair recovered from the interior of the Jaguar belongs to Rachel Cliff. As Lewis and Hathaway interview Rachel they are interrupted by the discovery of a skeletal body and a suitcase in the college chapel's attic.
