Ep 3. One Small Step

In MasterChef Junior season 4 episode 3, titled "One Small Step," the young chefs are tasked with creating a dish inspired by space travel. The competition kicks off with a Mystery Box Challenge, featuring ingredients such as freeze-dried corn, astronaut ice cream, and Tang.

The judges, Chef Gordon Ramsay, Chef Christina Tosi, and astronaut Scott Kelly, watch as the junior chefs tackle the challenge, scaling up their cooking skills to fit the "out-of-this-world" theme. Some of the dishes created include corn and potato soup with a Tang foam, a roasted chicken with a freeze-dried corn crust, and a dessert inspired by stars and galaxies.

The judges then introduce the Elimination Challenge, which requires the junior chefs to recreate a dish that Chef Ramsay cooked in space during his time on the International Space Station. With only a few hours to recreate his complex dish, the young chefs must focus and work efficiently under pressure.

As they cook, they receive tips and guidance from the judges, including astronaut Kelly, who shares insights about the challenges of cooking in space. The junior chefs face various obstacles, from overcooking the protein to dealing with unfamiliar ingredients. As they race against the clock, tensions run high in the MasterChef Junior kitchen.

In the end, three junior chefs are selected for the bottom three, and one is ultimately sent home. Meanwhile, the top performers are celebrated for their creativity and skill in bringing their dishes to life. With each challenge, the young chefs of MasterChef Junior prove that they are capable of mastering even the most difficult culinary tasks, and that they are well on their way to becoming the next generation of top chefs.
