MasterChef Australia is a hit reality cooking competition that has been running for over a decade. In the latest season, the tenth, ten contestants are left to battle it out for the title of MasterChef Australia. In episode 20, the next challenge is a two-part challenge, starting with the difficult "20 Box Challenge" followed by a "Team Relay Invention Test."
The first part of the challenge requires the contestants to face the daunting 20 Box Challenge. The chefs have to prepare as many dishes as possible using a group of ingredients contained in twenty numbered boxes, and each box contains a specific ingredient that has to be used in a recipe. The contestants have two hours to cook and must not open more than two boxes at a time. This challenge is notoriously challenging as the chefs are often given odd and difficult ingredients. The pressure is intense for the contestants who have to work with unfamiliar ingredients, and some boxes may contain herbs or spices that they are not familiar with. The judges are looking for creativity, innovation and, of course, taste.
Once the "20 Box Challenge" is completed, the contestants move on to the second part of the episode - the "Team Relay Invention Test." The contestants are divided into two teams and are given three hours to invent a recipe using the ingredients they collected from the 20 Box Challenge. The inventiveness of the contestants will need to be in full swing as they also have to pass on their cooking duties to their next team member within 15 minutes.
The team that completes the invention test in a better way will win immunity, keeping them safe from the next round of elimination. The twist in this challenge is that the losing team will have to face an elimination challenge with the winner deciding which members of their own team would be safe, and which members of the opposing team would be in danger.
Throughout the challenge, the judges keep a close eye on the work of all the contestants. The judges on this season are George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan, and Matt Preston. They are looking for technical and innovative cooking styles that demonstrate the chefs' ability to think on the spot and deliver high-quality dishes.
The contestants’ performance during the "20 Box Challenge" and the "Team Relay Invention Test" will determine their fate in the competition and whether they are at risk of going home. While the contestants are brought together by their shared love for cooking, they are also fiercely competitive and know that time is both their friend and their enemy. They will need to draw on their culinary knowledge and skills to survive this round and progress further in the competition.
MasterChef Australia is a beloved reality cooking competition that places a high value on creativity, technical expertise, and flair in the kitchen. The twofold challenges of the "20 Box Challenge" and "Team Relay Invention Test" always prove to be difficult, and contestants must put their best foot forward if they hope to succeed. The pressure cooker situation in the kitchen makes for great TV viewing, and viewers can tune in to see who comes out on top in this thrilling episode of MasterChef Australia.
