Good-Bye Radar (Part 2) is the fifth episode of the eighth season of the popular TV series M*A*S*H. The show centers around the lives and antics of the doctors and military personnel stationed at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War. The episode is a continuation of the previous episode, which saw the beloved character, Radar O'Reilly, being sent home.
The episode begins with Radar's last day at the camp. The doctors and nurses at the camp are all mourning Radar's departure, as he has been an integral part of the group. The camp has a farewell party for Radar to celebrate his time at the camp and to say their goodbyes.
During the party, Hawkeye, B.J., and Klinger give Radar gifts, including a new watch, a plaque with his name on it, and a teddy bear. The group reminisces about Radar's time at the camp and all the good times they have had together. They express their love for him and how much they are going to miss him.
Throughout the episode, Radar struggles with his decision to leave the camp. He is torn between wanting to go home and be with his family and friends, and his loyalty to the camp and the people he has grown to love. As he says his goodbyes, he realizes how much he is going to miss the people at the camp, and how much they have become like family to him.
Meanwhile, the camp prepares for Radar's replacement, a new young soldier named Sgt. Billy "BJ" Baker. As the group tries to get to know their new arrival, they quickly learn that he is nothing like Radar. While Radar was quiet and organized, BJ is loud and disorganized. The group struggles to adjust to his ways and the change of having someone new at the camp.
As tensions rise between BJ and the rest of the group, Father Mulcahy tries to intervene and make everyone see that they need to give BJ a fair chance. As a man of the cloth, Father Mulcahy is able to bring a sense of calm to the situation and help everyone come to terms with Radar's departure and the arrival of BJ.
In the end, Radar says his final goodbyes to the group and boards the helicopter to go home. The group watches as the helicopter takes off, realizing that their time at the camp may be coming to an end. The episode ends with the group returning to their duties, looking forward to what the future may hold.
