Ep 20. C*A*V*E

Hawkeye, B.J., and Margaret are on their way back to the 4077th when their jeep breaks down in the middle of nowhere. They happen upon a cave and decide to take shelter there while they wait for help. During this time, the three characters become quite introspective and begin to share their deepest fears with each other. Meanwhile, back at the camp, the doctors are dealing with a unique situation - a patient who refuses to be treated. Father Mulcahy tries to convince the patient to accept treatment while Klinger focuses on trying to figure out why he is refusing. As Hawkeye, B.J., and Margaret continue to wait for help, they discover that the cave is home to a mother bat and her young. They work together to care for the bats and protect them from harm. By the time they are rescued, our three main characters have grown much closer and have learned a great deal about themselves and each other. In the end, the patient back at the camp agrees to be treated, demonstrating the power of compassionate care.
