Luke Cage is a superhero series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show follows the story of an ex-convict named Luke Cage who gains superhuman strength and unbreakable skin after an experiment goes wrong. In season 1 episode 10, titled "Take It Personal," the villains and heroes of Harlem are gearing up for a final showdown that will determine the fate of the neighborhood.
As the episode begins, Luke (Mike Colter) is still recovering from the gunshot wound he sustained in the previous episode. Claire (Rosario Dawson) is tending to his wounds and urging him to seek medical attention at a hospital, but Luke is hesitant to put himself in the hands of the authorities.
Meanwhile, Mariah (Alfre Woodard) is preparing to give a speech at the funeral of her cousin, Cottonmouth (Mahershala Ali). Shades (Theo Rossi) is helping her with her PR strategy and encouraging her to use the opportunity to gain sympathy and support from the community. However, Mariah is still struggling with the guilt of having killed her own cousin and is having second thoughts about going through with the speech.
Misty (Simone Missick) is also at the funeral, trying to piece together the events that led to Cottonmouth's death. She's convinced that Luke is responsible, but she's having a hard time finding any evidence to back up her theory. She's also feeling conflicted about her feelings for Luke, who she knows is technically a criminal but also has a noble streak.
As the funeral procession winds through Harlem, tensions are high. Luke is still weak from his injuries, but he knows he needs to confront Mariah and Shades before they can cause any more trouble. He heads to the funeral home, where he runs into Misty. The two have a tense standoff, with Misty trying to arrest Luke and Luke insisting that he's innocent.
Things come to a head when Mariah takes the stage for her speech. Luke and Misty are both in the crowd, and they each have their own agendas. Luke is trying to stop Mariah and Shades from consolidating power, while Misty is trying to gather evidence against Luke. The tension is palpable as Mariah begins to speak, and it's clear that something big is about to happen.
Overall, "Take It Personal" is a thrilling episode that ramps up the tension and sets the stage for an explosive finale. The episode is full of great performances, particularly from Alfre Woodard as Mariah and Mike Colter as Luke. The tension between Luke and Misty is also a highlight, as the two characters navigate their complicated feelings for each other while also trying to do what they believe is right. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe won't want to miss this episode.
