Ep 4. The Boy Who Draws Monsters
- August 20, 2018
The Boy Who Draws Monsters is the fourth episode of the second season of Marvel's Future Avengers. The episode revolves around a little boy named Ikki who has a gift of drawing monsters that come to life. The team is sent to track Ikki down before he causes any damage to himself or anyone else.
The episode starts with the team receiving the news about the boy who creates real-life monsters through his drawings. The team is immediately alarmed and starts to search for him. They soon come across a series of monster attacks, and it becomes clear that Ikki is responsible for them.
Meanwhile, Ikki is in his room, drawing more monsters as his father tries to calm him down. The father seems to be the only person who can handle Ikki's wild imaginations. Ikki feels misunderstood and thinks that nobody can understand his gift, leading him to feel alone.
The team finally locates Ikki's home, and they decide to split up to cover more ground. Akira and Bear find Ikki's father, who shares Ikki's sketchbook with them. They are amazed to discover that Ikki's drawings are incredibly detailed and sophisticated.
As they continue to search, Tony and Makoto come across one of Ikki's monsters that was wreaking havoc in a nearby mall. They try to capture it, but the monster is too strong for them. Tony relays a message to the rest of the team, warning them that the monsters are getting stronger and harder to contain.
Back at Ikki's house, Bear and Akira are trying to understand the drawings in the sketchbook. They quickly realize that Ikki has been drawing monsters that are coming from other dimensions. They start to suspect that Ikki might have accessed a portal that leads to the other dimensions, which is how his drawings are coming to life.
Upon further investigation, the team discovers that Ikki's mother was a scientist working on a portal that could connect different dimensions, but she died before she could complete her research. Ikki has been using his drawings to make the portal work, which has been causing the monsters to come to life.
As the team tries to escort Ikki and his father out of the house, they are ambushed by a powerful monster that Ikki had drawn in his sketchbook. The team is outmatched, and they can't seem to contain the monster.
Just when all seems lost, Ikki steps in and manages to calm the monster down with his drawings. The team is amazed by Ikki's talent and realizes that he wasn't trying to harm anyone. He just wanted to create a world where he could be accepted for who he is.
The team manages to seal the portal and contain the monsters, but they have a newfound respect for Ikki's gift. Ikki decides to put his talent to good use and starts to create comics, which the team reads with interest.
The episode ends with the team bidding farewell to Ikki and his father, who are grateful for their help. As they watch the two walk away, Tony remarks that Ikki might just be the next great storyteller of their time.
