Nurse Martha / TD Gets the Scoop is the twenty-third episode of the first season of Martha Speaks. In this episode, Martha plays the role of a nurse to help out several sick animals in her neighborhood.
The episode opens with Martha waking up feeling a little under the weather. She is surprised to find that her nose has grown significantly overnight. She turns to her vet friend, Dr. Truman, for help. Dr. Truman tells her that she probably has a cold, and advises her to stay in bed and rest. He also gives her a nasal spray to help clear her stuffy nose. However, Martha is not one to rest for too long. She soon gets up and decides to take on the role of a nurse to help out her sick friends in the neighborhood.
The first animal she meets is Jake, a dog who has cut his paw and is in need of a bandage. Martha helps him by cleaning the wound and wrapping it with a bandage. Next, she meets a chicken who has swallowed a marble and is having trouble breathing. Martha saves the chicken's life by performing the Heimlich maneuver. She also helps a hedgehog who is too shy to see the doctor by teaching him how to relax and trust the veterinarian.
Meanwhile, TD has his own adventure. He has started a newspaper called the Wagstaff Times and is trying to find a good story to print. He overhears Martha talking about her nursing duties and decides to interview her for his newspaper. He follows her around, taking notes and asking questions. However, Martha soon realizes that TD is more interested in making a juicy story than reporting the truth, and she is not comfortable with that. She confronts TD, telling him that she is only trying to help her friends. TD realizes his mistake and apologizes, promising to print only the truth from now on.
The episode ends with Martha feeling better and back to her normal self. TD puts together a story about Martha's nursing duties, but this time he writes it truthfully and accurately.
Overall, Nurse Martha / TD Gets the Scoop is a heartwarming episode that teaches valuable lessons about helping others, telling the truth, and trusting your instincts. It also shows the importance of good journalism and responsible reporting. Viewers of all ages are sure to enjoy this episode and its lovable characters.
