In Married...with Children season 5 episode 16, entitled "All Night Security Dude," the show follows the Bundy family as they face new challenges with the hiring of nighttime security at Gary's Shoes. Al, the patriarch of the Bundy family, is notoriously frugal and disgruntled about the added expense, but is ultimately placated by the allure of the free donuts that come with the job.
Meanwhile, Peggy, Al's wife, is inspired to also take on a full-time job after seeing the security guard in action, in hopes of finally being able to afford the luxury items she's craved. She applies to the shoe store and is hired as an all-night cleaning lady. Despite her enthusiasm, her attempts at cleaning prove to be disastrous and she resorts to newfound methods, such as hiding the mess or claiming it's "art."
As the episode progresses, Al becomes increasingly irritated with the security guard's presence and attempts to convince him to quit with minimal success. The guard, played by actor Duane Whitaker, proves to be a significant thorn in Al's side with his constant snooping and butterfingers when it comes to firearms. A comedic subplot involves the guard mistakenly eating Al's "good" candy instead of his own, leading to an awkward confrontation between the two.
Frustrated with the guard's incompetence, Al decides to take matters into his own hands and attempts to show the security guard how to do his job properly. This involves staging a "robbery" of the shoe store to test the guard's reactions. Of course, as is typical with Married...with Children, things do not go as planned and chaos ensues.
In the end, the Bundy family manages to survive another day, albeit with a few added dents to their already chaotic lives. "All Night Security Dude" proves to be a classic episode of the series, showcasing the family's unique brand of humor and the wacky scenarios they find themselves in.
