Married...with Children season 5 episode 13, titled "The Godfather," revolves around Al Bundy, the patriarch of the Bundy family, who is called the "Godfather" by the neighborhood kids. Al takes his godfather role seriously, and he's more than happy to give some "fatherly advice" to the males in the community.
In this episode, Al becomes especially invested in his godfather persona when the children approach him to ask for advice about their relationships with their girlfriends. The kids are getting tired of their girlfriends constantly talking about their feelings and discussing relationships, and they're looking for some advice on how to make them stop.
When they come to Al for help, he gives them some rather unconventional advice. He tells them that they need to take control of the relationships and assert their dominance over their girlfriends. According to Al, women are like bulls - they need to be tamed and controlled.
Naturally, the kids are taken aback by Al's advice, but Al is convinced that he knows what he's talking about. He's been married to his wife, Peggy, for years, after all, and he's got the experience to back up his claims.
Meanwhile, Peggy decides to start her own Mary Kay-like business, selling beauty products door-to-door. Peggy is excited about the prospect of making some extra money for the family, but Al is less than thrilled. He thinks that Peggy is wasting her time and that she's never going to make any real money selling makeup to the neighborhood.
As Peggy starts to sell more and more makeup, though, Al starts to get jealous. He doesn't like the fact that Peggy is making more money than he is, and he doesn't like the fact that she's succeeding in a business venture that he thinks is a waste of time.
The tension between Al and Peggy starts to rise, and it culminates in a hilarious scene where they both try to assert their dominance over each other. Peggy challenges Al to a game of handball, and Al accepts, thinking that he's going to be able to beat her easily.
However, Peggy surprises him by playing dirty, hitting the ball so hard that it hits him in the face. Al is down for the count, and Peggy declares victory.
In the end, Al realizes that his godfather advice was wrong, and he goes back to the neighborhood kids to apologize. He tells them that women can't be controlled and that they should respect their girlfriends' feelings and opinions. The kids are grateful for the new advice, and they go off to try it out on their own.
Overall, Married...with Children season 5 episode 13 is an entertaining and hilarious episode that's full of laughs. The tension between Al and Peggy is funny, and the subplot about Peggy's makeup business is a great addition to the story. If you're a fan of the show, you won't want to miss this episode.
