Peggy Turns 300 is the nineteenth episode of the fourth season of Married...with Children, the iconic sitcom that aired from 1987 to 1997. The show follows the Bundy family, a dysfunctional suburban family living in Chicago, Illinois. Al Bundy, the father, is a shoe salesman who hates his job and his life. Peggy Bundy, the mother, is a lazy and vain housewife who spends her days watching TV and shopping. Bud and Kelly, the children, are both dim-witted but lovable teenagers.
In this particular episode, Peggy celebrates her 45th birthday, which she claims is her 300th. She insists that she's stuck at that age and refuses to acknowledge any other number. To mark the occasion, she throws herself a big party and invites all of her friends and family. However, Al is not happy about spending money on the party and complains the entire time.
The episode starts with Peggy getting ready for her party and trying to convince Al to buy her a new dress. Al is annoyed by her constant nagging and tells her to wear one of her old dresses. Peggy is not happy about this but decides to make the best of it. She sets up a table with some snacks and decorations and starts welcoming her guests.
At the party, Peggy is the center of attention and basks in the adoration of her friends. Her friends bring her gifts, including a life-sized cutout of Elvis Presley and a wig that looks like Farrah Fawcett's hair. Meanwhile, Al is miserable and bored and spends most of the time sitting on the couch, drinking beer and watching TV.
As the night goes on, Peggy becomes increasingly drunk and starts behaving erratically. She dances on the table, flirts with her neighbor Marcy's husband, and orders a male stripper. Al is mortified by his wife's behavior and tries to stop her, but she ignores him. The stripper arrives and starts dancing for Peggy, only to be interrupted by Al, who punches him in the face.
The party descends into chaos, with Peggy and Al arguing and fighting with each other. Peggy accuses Al of ruining her birthday, while Al accuses Peggy of being a selfish and delusional woman. The guests start to leave, and Peggy is left alone with Al. She starts crying and tells him that she feels old and unattractive.
Al, despite his anger towards Peggy, feels sorry for her and tries to console her. He tells her that she's not old, just a little crazy, and that he loves her anyway. Peggy is touched by his words and they make up.
The episode ends with Al and Peggy sitting on the couch, watching TV together. Peggy says that she's glad she had the party, even though it didn't go as planned. Al agrees and tells her that they can celebrate her 300th birthday every year if she wants to. Peggy smiles and kisses him, and the credits roll.
Peggy Turns 300 is a classic episode of Married...with Children, showcasing the show's irreverent humor and the chemistry between the main characters. The episode deals with themes of aging, vanity, and marriage, while also providing a lot of laughs. It's a must-watch for fans of the show and a great introduction for newcomers.
