Al Bundy, the shoe salesman, is a disgruntled and unhappy man. Over the years, he has lost his hair, his physique, and his dreams of playing pro football. He is the archetypal broken family man, long past his prime and stuck living in a loveless marriage with his bickering wife, Peggy, and their two children, Kelly and Bud.

In "Here's Lookin' at You, Kid," the 22nd episode of Married...with Children's third season, Al has a new enemy to contend with. It comes in the form of a telescope belonging to the D'Arcy family, his neighbors across the street. Al's life takes an exciting turn when he decides to use the telescope to spy on his beautiful neighbor, Marcy.

However, while Al is enjoying his voyeuristic hobby, Peggy has taken up jogging with a group of women and is feeling more attractive than ever. In a bid to keep her husband's wandering eye in check, she starts working out in front of Al and attempting to rekindle their romance. Meanwhile, Al's friend Steve, who is also spying on Marcy with his own telescope, has an idea to involve Al in a little wager which could have serious consequences.

The episode is a hilarious portrayal of the darker side of suburban life. It highlights the contrast between Al's dissatisfaction with his lot and Peggy's efforts to improve herself, as well as the relationships between the characters as they struggle to connect with one another. The sense of humor is self-deprecating and absurd, as Al is caught between his fantasies and the reality of his life. With terrific performances by the cast, "Here's Lookin' at You, Kid" is a classic episode of Married...with Children.
