In season 8 of Married at First Sight, the experiment continues for the four couples who tied the knot without ever meeting each other before. They are now one month into their marriages and are facing new challenges as they get to know their spouses more intimately.
In episode 10, titled "One Month Down, Forever To Go?", the couples are reflecting on their first month of marriage and how they have adjusted to being married to a stranger. They sit down with the experts to discuss their feelings and concerns, and to get feedback on how they can improve their relationships.
The first couple, Keith and Kristine, have been getting along relatively well, but are struggling with Keith's busy schedule as a firefighter. Kristine wants more quality time with her husband and is worried that they are not building enough of a connection. The experts encourage Keith to make more of an effort to prioritize his relationship with Kristine and suggest that they try new activities together.
The second couple, Will and Jasmine, are still dealing with trust issues. Will has been secretive about his past relationships and Jasmine feels like he is holding back. They attend a trust-building exercise where they have to confront each other's fears and insecurities. The exercise brings them closer together and they finally start to make progress in their relationship.
Luke and Kate, the third couple, have had a tumultuous first month of marriage. Luke has been making insensitive remarks about Kate's appearance and has even suggested that he is not attracted to her. Kate is understandably hurt and confused about their dynamic. In this episode, they go on a romantic weekend away together to try and work through their issues. However, things take a turn for the worse when Luke reveals even more hurtful information about his thoughts on their relationship.
The final couple, AJ and Stephanie, have been struggling with communication. AJ has a tendency to be hot-headed and Stephanie is worried that they will not be able to effectively resolve conflicts in their marriage. They meet with a communication expert who gives them tools and strategies to improve their communication skills. By the end of the episode, they are on their way to a healthier and more open relationship.
Overall, "One Month Down, Forever To Go?" is a pivotal episode for the couples as they start to confront some of the deeper issues in their relationships. The experts offer guidance and advice, but it ultimately comes down to each individual couple to implement changes in order to make their marriages work.
