In the season 9 premiere of Man v. Food, host Casey Webb travels to Minneapolis, MN, to tackle some of the city's biggest and boldest food challenges. First up, Casey heads to the Blue Door Pub, where he takes on the Blucy Challenge - a massive burger stuffed with pepper jack cheese and bacon, and served on a pretzel bun. Casey must finish the Blucy, along with a side of tater tots, in just 30 minutes.
Next, Casey visits Gorkha Palace, a Nepalese restaurant known for its fiery vindaloo curry. He tries the Triple X Vindaloo - an intense dish made with not one, not two, but three types of chili peppers. The heat is so intense that Casey is required to sign a waiver before digging in.
Casey then heads to the Minnesota State Fair, where he samples some of the fair's most iconic foods. He tries deep-fried cheese curds, mini donuts, and the famous Pronto Pup - a corn dog on a stick. Casey also takes on the Giant Slide, a towering slide that has been a staple at the fair since 1968.
At Lu's Sandwiches, an unassuming Vietnamese sandwich shop, Casey tries the Giant Bánh Mì - a colossal sandwich made with six different types of meat, pâté, and pickled vegetables. The sandwich is so large that it's served on a specially-made pizza tray.
Finally, Casey visits Psycho Suzi's, a tiki bar known for its massive Volcano Bowl - a drink made with several types of rum and fruit juice, served in a bowl that's set on fire. Casey must finish the entire bowl (which serves four people) within 30 minutes or less.
Throughout the episode, Casey learns about the history and culture of Minneapolis, from the city's connection to the Mississippi River to its thriving arts and theater scenes. He also meets locals who offer tips and insights on navigating the city's food scene.
With the signature humor and enthusiasm that has made Man v. Food a fan favorite, Casey takes viewers on a culinary tour of Minneapolis, showcasing some of the city's most delicious and daring dishes. Whether he's taking on a spicy challenge or sampling classic fair foods, Casey is up for anything - and viewers will be entertained and inspired to try some of these tasty treats for themselves.
