In season 5 episode 2 of Man v. Food, host Adam Richman explores the historic city of Boston, Massachusetts, in search of the best and most challenging eats the city has to offer. From lobster rolls to clam chowder and everything in between, Richman samples some of Boston's most iconic dishes, including a 3-pound lobster and a massive burger topped with pastrami and bacon.

The episode begins with a visit to Neptune Oyster, a tiny seafood spot that's been a Boston staple for over a decade. Here, Richman tries their signature lobster roll, piled high with fresh lobster meat and served on a buttery roll. He also tries their creamy, award-winning clam chowder, made from locally sourced ingredients.

Next, Richman heads to The Fours, a sports bar located across from Boston's TD Garden arena. Here, he takes on the "4lb. burger challenge," a massive burger topped with pastrami, bacon, and cheddar cheese, served with a side of fries and onion rings. Richman has just 45 minutes to finish the burger and sides, and he's determined to come out on top.

After the burger challenge, Richman takes a break from the heavy eating and heads to Mike's Pastry, a famed bakery in Boston's North End neighborhood. He samples some of their famous cannolis, stuffed with sweet ricotta cheese and available in a variety of flavors.

Richman then heads to Union Oyster House, one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the United States. Here, he tries their specialty, a 3-pound lobster served with drawn butter and lemon. Richman tackles the giant crustacean, cracking open the shells and enjoying the succulent meat inside.

Finally, Richman heads to Boston's Fenway Park for a classic ballpark treat – a hot dog. But this isn't just any hot dog – it's a Fenway Frank, a juicy all-beef hot dog served on a New England-style bun and topped with mustard and relish. Richman enjoys the hot dog while watching the Boston Red Sox play on their home turf.

Throughout the episode, Richman provides insights into the cultural and historical significance of each of the eateries he visits, as well as the role food plays in Boston's local identity. From traditional New England seafood to hearty stadium fare, Richman experiences the full range of Boston's culinary scene.
