In the eleventh episode of season 3 of Man v. Food, host Adam Richman travels to Kansas City to tackle some of the city's most beloved dishes and culinary challenges.
Adam kicks off his trip by visiting Woodyard Bar-B-Que, where he samples some of their famous burnt ends and learns about the history of Kansas City-style barbecue. From there, he heads to Arthur Bryant's Barbeque, another legendary spot for barbecue in the city, where he tries the pork ribs and beef brisket.
Next up, Adam heads to Grunauer, a restaurant serving up classic Austrian dishes. He samples wiener schnitzel, a traditional breaded and fried veal dish, and takes on the restaurant's Jager schnitzel challenge – a massive plate of pork schnitzel served with mushrooms, spaetzle, and gravy.
After that, Adam heads to Fritz's Railroad Restaurant, a retro diner serving up burgers and fries. He tries their signature burger, the Triple in which three burger patties are stacked high with all the toppings.
Then, it's on to Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue, another popular barbecue spot in Kansas City. Adam tries their burnt ends sandwich and learns about the restaurant's unique backstory – it's located inside a gas station!
Finally, Adam ends his trip at Papa Bob's Bar-B-Que, a family-owned restaurant serving up huge portions of barbecue. He takes on the "Papa Bob's Belly Buster Challenge," which involves devouring a massive plate of barbecue, including ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, and sides, in under an hour.
Throughout the episode, Adam also explores the city's rich barbecue history and culture, meeting chefs and locals who are passionate about Kansas City's food scene.
