On this episode of Man v. Food Nation, host Adam Richman takes a trip down Route 66 to explore some of the best eats along this iconic American highway. The episode kicks off in Amarillo, Texas, where Adam samples some of the famous giant steaks at the Big Texan Steak Ranch. Next, he heads to Oklahoma City to visit the Cattlemen's Steakhouse and try their renowned lamb fries.
Adam then makes a stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to visit the legendary White River Fish Market & Restaurant, where he indulges in a seafood feast comprised of shrimp, crab, catfish, and more. From there, he makes his way to Springfield, Missouri, to visit the oldest operating drive-in in the country, the Route 66 Drive-In Theater, where he tries out their classic burgers and shakes.
Continuing along Route 66, Adam heads to St. Louis, Missouri, to visit Pappy's Smokehouse and take on their "Big Ben," a massive sandwich filled with pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked sausage. Finally, he ends his journey in Chicago, Illinois, where he stops at Al's Beef to try their famous Italian beef sandwich.
Throughout the episode, Adam also meets up with locals and other food enthusiasts along Route 66, getting their take on the best eats and local food culture. In addition to showcasing some of the most delicious and unique food stops along the famous highway, the episode highlights the rich history and Americana that continues to draw people to Route 66.
