Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies is an animated children's television series produced by King Rollo Films and Granada Kids. The show began airing on PBS Kids in 2007 and ran for two seasons, ending in 2008. Hosted by Mama Mirabelle, the show combines live-action footage of animals in the wild with computer-generated animation to teach young viewers about various animals and their habitats.

The show's premise centers around a motherly and knowledgeable elephant named Mama Mirabelle, who lives in an African savannah with her animal friends. Each episode begins with Mama Mirabelle introducing a home movie from her collection, which features animals from all over the world. The home movies serve as a starting point for the episode's lesson, as Mama Mirabelle and her friends explore the behavior and habits of animals in the featured habitat.

The episodes cover a wide range of habitats and animal groups, from the African savannah to the Arctic tundra. Mama Mirabelle and her friends observe and learn about animals such as lions, zebras, polar bears, and penguins. Through their experiences, the show teaches young viewers about the physical characteristics, behavior, and adaptations of these animals.

Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies also emphasizes the importance of conservation and protecting the habitats of animals. In each episode, Mama Mirabelle and her friends highlight the threats facing these animals and offer tips on how people can help preserve them. The show encourages empathy and respect for all living creatures and inspires viewers to become stewards of the environment.

Floella Benjamin, a British actress, writer, and children's advocate, stars as the voice of Mama Mirabelle. Her warm and inviting tone adds to the show's comforting and educational atmosphere. The show has also received critical praise for its vibrant and engaging animation and its ability to keep young viewers entertained while teaching them valuable lessons.

In addition to the television series, Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies has also spawned a variety of spin-off media, including books, DVDs, and interactive games. The show's popularity has made Mama Mirabelle a beloved character for young children, and its educational message continues to inspire young viewers to learn about the world around them.

Episode 1: Everybody seems enamored with their tails today, except for Max, who doesn't think his tail is so special. Mama shows the kids -- through her movies -- there are a lot of different "tails to tell" in the animal kingdom. Every tail, however, is unique and special -- just like the animal it's attached to. Episode 2: While playing in the bush, Max, Bo, and Karla stumble upon a giant footprint and go running back to Mama. Mama is curious, and together they discover -- by looking at movies of various animals and their tracks -- that the print they saw wasn't left by any animal walking in the savanna today but, instead, was left by an impressive remnant of the distant past.

As a result, the children understand that each of their favorite games actually helps them practice skills they will use later in life.
