Mama's Family season 4 episode 14, titled "Mama's Girls," centers around Mama's desire to bring her three daughters together for her birthday. Mama (played by Vicki Lawrence) is disappointed when she discovers that her daughters - Bubba's mother-in-law Fran (Rue McClanahan), Ellen (Betty White), and Eunice (Carol Burnett) - are all too busy to celebrate with her.

Nevertheless, Mama decides to go ahead with her plans for a birthday party, enlisting the help of her granddaughter, Tudi (Karin Argoud), to decorate the house and prepare food. As the day goes on, Mama becomes increasingly frustrated and upset as her daughters continue to fail to show up.

Meanwhile, each of Mama's daughters is dealing with their own personal issues. Fran is grappling with the fact that her daughter, Sonja (Lisa Jane Persky), is pregnant and is not sure how to be a good mother-in-law to Bubba (Allan Kayser) and his family. Ellen, who is an alcoholic, is struggling to stay sober and keep her job as a receptionist at a medical clinic. And Eunice, who has a strained relationship with Mama, is hesitant to attend the birthday party due to a recent fight with her husband, Ed (Harvey Korman).

As the day progresses, Mama becomes increasingly anxious about her daughters. With the help of her friends Iola (Beverly Archer) and Naomi (Dorothy Lyman), Mama manages to convince each daughter to come to the party, despite their individual struggles.

Finally, Mama's girls all show up just in time to surprise her with a special birthday present. The party ends on a happy note, with Mama realizing the importance of family and the love that binds them all together.
