The doctor reveals that Francis was the only member of the jury who voted not guilty, causing Malcolm to question his brother's reasoning.
In the end, the family comes together to support each other, despite their individual struggles. Lois quits her job and decides to pursue a new career, while Malcolm learns to appreciate his brothers and the challenges of taking care of them.
