After a brief hiatus, Major Crimes season 5 returned with Skin Deep, the fourth episode of the season. As always, the show revolves around the Los Angeles Police Department's famed Major Crimes division, and this episode was no exception.
In Skin Deep, the division is tasked with investigating the murder of a young woman whose body is found near an exclusive club. The victim is identified as being a former member of the club, which is known for hosting parties attended by the city's elite.
Initially, the investigation seems straightforward, with the team focusing on the young woman's suspected drug use and the possibility of foul play at one of the club's parties. However, as the case progresses, they begin to uncover a much more complex and sinister plot.
The club's owner, for example, appears to be involved in a number of illegal activities, and is hesitant to cooperate with the police. Meanwhile, evidence suggests that the young woman may have been involved in an elaborate scam aimed at the club's wealthy clientele.
As the team works to unravel the mystery surrounding the victim's death, they are confronted with a number of challenges. For one thing, they must contend with a lack of cooperation from both the club's owner and some of its members.
Additionally, the young woman's past proves to be complicated, with her involvement in a shady online business enterprise posing further complications for the investigation.
Despite these obstacles, however, the team is determined to get to the bottom of the case. Led by Captain Sharon Raydor, they use their considerable skills to piece together the clues and identify the suspect responsible for the young woman's death.
Along the way, they also delve deeper into the sordid underbelly of Los Angeles, shining a light on the darker aspects of life in the city.
Overall, Skin Deep is a gripping and tense episode of Major Crimes, featuring all the twists and turns that fans have come to expect from the show. With its complex plot and strong performances, it is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.
