Arjun impresses Draupadi by his skills in archery, and she chooses him as her husband. However, when the five brothers return home to show Kunti what they have brought for her, she accidentally commands them to share whatever they have equally among themselves. As a result, Draupadi becomes the wife of all five brothers.
Duryodhana, the eldest of the Kauravas, is incensed by the Pandavas' success and power, and plots with his uncle Shakuni to defeat them. They invite the Pandavas to a game of dice, which is rigged in their favor. Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pandavas, loses everything in the game, including his kingdom, his wealth, his brothers, and even his wife Draupadi.
Duryodhana orders his brother Dushasana to strip Draupadi in front of the court, but Krishna intervenes and saves her honor. Draupadi vows to never tie her hair until the day she avenges herself against Dushasana, and Krishna promises her that she will ultimately do so.
The Pandavas are banished to the forest for 12 years, followed by a year of living incognito. During their exile, they encounter many challenges, including demons and enemies seeking to harm them. However, they manage to overcome these obstacles with the help of their skills, intelligence, and the blessings of the gods.
Meanwhile, back in Hastinapur, the Kauravas continue to plot against the Pandavas. Shakuni convinces Duryodhana to invite Yudhishthira back to the palace for another game of dice, promising that this time they will not lose. Yudhishthira agrees to the game, but is once again tricked and loses everything, including himself and his brothers, to Duryodhana.
As punishment for losing the game, the Pandavas and Draupadi suffer exile in the forest for 12 years, which ends in them living incognito for another year. The season ends with the Pandavas taking an oath to destroy the Kuru dynasty.
