Ep 46. Episode 46
- August 13, 1989
Duryodhan receives news about the Pandavas building a palace near their capital, Indraprastha. He decides to visit them and see it for himself. Shakuni advises him to find faults in the palace and criticize it in front of the Pandavas. Meanwhile, the Pandavas are excitedly awaiting the arrival of Duryodhan, not suspecting any ill will. When he arrives, he is impressed by the palace but still finds ways to criticize it. Yudhishthir tries to brush off his comments, but Duryodhan insists on a game of dice to settle the matter.
The game begins, and Shakuni uses his dark magic to tip the odds in Duryodhan's favor. One by one, the Pandavas lose everything they own, including their kingdom, their wealth, and even themselves. Finally, Yudhishthir goes all-in and wagers his own freedom. He also loses, and Duryodhan orders that the Pandavas and Draupadi be banished to the forest for twelve years and then spend a thirteenth year in disguise. If any of them are recognized during this time, they must repeat the cycle of twelve years in exile and one year in disguise.
The Pandavas and Draupadi are devastated by their loss and the harsh punishment. They leave the palace and begin their journey to the forest. On the way, they are joined by several people who offer to accompany them and help them during their exile. One of these people is the sage Markandeya, who tells them stories and gives them advice on how to survive in the forest.
As the Pandavas and Draupadi reach the forest, they are greeted by a man who introduces himself as Jayadratha, the king of Sindhu. He asks for Draupadi's hand in marriage, but she refuses, saying that she is already married to five men. Jayadratha is determined to have her and kidnaps her despite the Pandavas' efforts to stop him.
Meanwhile, Bharat, the younger brother of King Nala, arrives in Indraprastha and finds out what has happened. He pledges his support to the Pandavas and sets out to rescue Draupadi. After a long and arduous journey, he finds Jayadratha and engages him in battle. Using his skills and cunning, Bharat manages to defeat Jayadratha and rescue Draupadi.
The episode ends with the Pandavas and Draupadi continuing on with their exile in the forest, but with the knowledge that they have friends who will support them on their journey. They also realize that Duryodhan's bitterness and jealousy will continue to be a threat to them, and they must be careful not to fall under his trap again.
