The third episode of Mahabharat season 1, titled "Episode 3," offers an in-depth look at the events that unfolded shortly after the great battle of Kurukshetra. As the surviving members of the Pandava and Kaurava clans attempt to rebuild their lives, tension and conflict continue to rise.

The episode begins by focusing on Duryodhan, who is struggling to come to terms with his defeat. He is filled with bitterness and anger towards the Pandavas and refuses to accept his brother's death. Meanwhile, Yudhishthir is crowned as the new king of Hastinapur, but he is faced with the daunting task of rebuilding the kingdom after the devastating war.

The episode then takes us to the serene banks of the river Ganges, where the Pandavas are taking a break from their arduous journey to the Himalayas. While there, they meet Vyasa, a great sage and storyteller who begins to tell them the story of the Mahabharat.

As Vyasa recounts the history of their family, the Pandavas realize the true extent of their actions. As the episode progresses, we see the characters wrestling with their own inner demons. Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas, is consumed by guilt over her past mistakes, while Bhishma, the noble patriarch of the Kuru clan, grapples with the consequences of his actions.

The episode culminates with a confrontation between Gandhari, the mother of the Kauravas, and Krishna. Gandhari blames Krishna for the death of her sons and confronts him with a curse. However, Krishna remains undaunted and reminds her that it was her own arrogance that led to the downfall of her family.
