In Episode 22 of Mahabharat season 1, the story continues from the previous episode where Pandavas have won the hand of Draupadi and bring her to Kunti. However, as they announce their victory and show Draupadi to everyone, things take a drastic turn. When Karna tries to make his way to Draupadi, Yudhishthir insults him citing his low caste and his lack of knowledge of his birth. Karna who is hurt by the insult swears to avenge his humiliation.

The episode then moves to show the celebrations of the victory of Pandavas and Draupadi’s swayamvar when Bhishma requests Kunti to introduce her sons to Satyavati, his stepmother. Kunti agrees and introduces her sons to Satyavati. Satyavati then informs Bhishma that she would like her grandchildren to carry on the Kuru dynasty and requests him to marry and have children to continue the family line. Bhishma affirms that he will do as she wishes.

Next, the episode shows an intense conversation between Bhishma and Amba, who is seeking revenge against Bhishma. Bhishma informs her that he cannot marry her as he has vowed to remain celibate his entire life. Amba is deeply hurt and leaves, vowing to seek revenge against Bhishma.

The episode then moves to the palace where Duryodhan and Shakuni are conspiring to destroy Pandavas. They come up with a plan to invite them to a game of dice and trick them into losing everything they have, including their kingdom. Duryodhan is motivated by jealousy towards the Pandavas and his desire to become the sole heir to the throne. Shakuni is motivated by his desire to avenge his sister Gandhari's blindness, which he blames on the Kuru dynasty.

In the meantime, Draupadi is introduced to the other queens of the palace, including Kunti, and they welcome her with open arms. They advise her on how to live in the palace and what her duties are as a queen.

The episode ends with Duryodhan sending an invitation to Yudhishthir for a game of dice. The invitation is accepted, and thus begins the disastrous game of dice, which will change the course of the Mahabharata. The episode ends with a sense of foreboding, as the viewers are aware of the conspiracy that has been set in motion by Duryodhan and Shakuni.

Overall, Episode 22 is a tense and dramatic episode that sets the stage for the events that will unfold in the upcoming episodes. The characters are well-developed, and their motives are clear, making it easy for the viewers to understand the conflicts that are driving the plot forward.
