Madeline's Valentine:

In this episode of Madeline, the focus is on Valentine's Day. The girls of the twelve little girls in two straight lines are excited to celebrate the holiday of love, and Madeline is no exception. The episode opens with the girls receiving Valentine's Day cards from their parents - all except Madeline. She receives one from her mother, but it's not in English, and she can't read it. Madeline's friends, understanding her disappointment, try to cheer her up by showing her their cards, but nothing seems to work. Even Miss Clavel, their caretaker, is unable to help.

Desperate to find out what her mother's message says, Madeline concocts a plan to meet her mother at the train station. The plan quickly unravels when Miss Clavel realizes that Madeline is missing and the girls come to her rescue. They scour the city, looking for their dear friend, until they finally find her at the train station. Although Madeline's mother doesn't arrive, her friends are there to comfort her.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Madeline and her friends are excited to exchange cards and treats. However, during their preparations, Madeline discovers that Pepito, the mischievous boy from next door, hasn't received any Valentine's Day cards. Feeling sorry for him, Madeline and her friends decide to create a special Valentine just for him.

As the day progresses, Madeline starts to feel melancholy once again. She misses her mother terribly, and no amount of treats or cards seem to help. As she wanders the city, she comes across a street musician playing a sad tune. The music touches her heart, and she decides to write a Valentine's Day card to her mother. She pours her heart out, expressing her love and longing for her mother. She leaves the card on a bench and returns to her friends.

As she arrives back at the old house in Paris, she discovers a surprise waiting for her. Her mother has sent her a Valentine's Day card, which Miss Clavel reads aloud to the girls. The card is full of love and affection, and it brings a happy tear to Madeline's eye. With her friends by her side, she has finally found the love and warmth that she was missing.
