In Madeline season 1 episode 18, titled "Madeline and the New House," the girls receive some fantastic news – they are moving to a new and bigger house! Everything seems to be going perfectly until they start packing, and Madeline realizes that she will lose her bedroom – the one with the beautiful view of Paris.
Madeline is heartbroken, as she has many cherished memories in her old room. She decides to hold a farewell party for her bedroom to say goodbye to it properly. She invites her friends over to help her pack, and they all take turns sharing their favorite memories of her room. They all put a lot of effort into making it a beautiful party, even drawing pictures and writing on her walls to leave something to remember them by.
During the party, Madeline's friend Pepito suggests that they should write a letter to the new owners of the house, asking them to let Madeline keep her old room. Madeline comes up with a brilliant idea to make the letter persuasive – they will hide a treasure map somewhere in the house, and promise to tell the new owners where to find it if they let Madeline keep her room.
The girls agree that it is a fantastic plan, and they distribute tasks to bring it to life. Chloe draws the map, Danielle hides the map, and the others write the letters. Madeline writes the letter in a captivating, diplomatic, and persuasive tone, building a strong argument about why the new owners should let her keep her room.
The day of the party has arrived, and the girls have been working tirelessly to ensure it is a massive success. They have pizza, balloons, and decorations, and everyone is dressed up, ready to celebrate. They even prepare speeches that they recite to Madeline's bedroom, as if it is a living thing.
Suddenly, they hear music coming from the room across the hall. They decide to investigate and find out that the new owners have arrived early. Madeline and her friends manage to sneak into the new owners' empty house undetected, and start looking for a place to hide the treasure map.
As they venture deeper into the house, they discover that the new owners have a daughter who's just Madeline's age. Madeline realizes that they could be friends, and her sense of competition and animosity vanishes. She feels relieved that a girl her age will be living in the house, and even offers to show her around.
Feeling good about her gesture and newfound friendship, Madeline makes the difficult decision to abandon the treasure map and gives up on convincing the new owners to allow her to keep her old room. Later at the party, they all say goodbye to Madeline's old room, realizing that memories are the best things they can take with them to the new house.
In the end, Madeline discovers that her new room also has a beautiful view of Paris, and she is relieved and happy that she can continue to look out at the city she loves. The episode ends on a positive note, with Madeline and her friends eagerly looking forward to making new memories in their new home and with their new friends.
