MacGruber is a television series that premiered on Peacock in 2021. It is based on the "Saturday Night Live" sketch of the same name which featured Will Forte as the titular character. Forte returns to play MacGruber, a former special operations agent who is called back into action to stop a terrorist attack.

Kristen Wiig also returns to reprise her role as Vicki St. Elmo, who is MacGruber's love interest and former partner in crime. Ryan Phillippe plays Dixon Piper, an army officer who has been tasked with working with MacGruber to stop the terrorist attack.

The show is a parody of classic action movies from the 1980s and 1990s. It features over-the-top action sequences, raunchy humor, and plenty of pop culture references. MacGruber is not meant to be taken seriously, and its humor is meant to be absurd and ridiculous.

The show begins with MacGruber living a quiet life in a monastery after the events of the first movie. However, when he is informed that his old nemesis, Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (played by Billy Zane), has stolen a nuclear warhead, he is forced to come out of retirement.

To stop the attack, MacGruber must work with a team of experts, including Vicki St. Elmo and Dixon Piper. However, he must also contend with his own personal demons, including his hilarious insecurities and his tendency to mess things up.

The show features plenty of hilarious moments, including a scene in which MacGruber tries to convince Dixon Piper to climb inside a dead animal to escape detection. There are also plenty of raunchy jokes and pop culture references that will keep audiences laughing throughout.

The chemistry between the actors is also a highlight of the show. Will Forte and Kristen Wiig have long been known for their comedic talents, and they bring their A-game to MacGruber. Ryan Phillippe is also a pleasant surprise, adding a level of gravitas to the show that helps to anchor its more absurd elements.

Overall, MacGruber is a hilarious, action-packed show that will appeal to fans of classic action movies and comedy. Its irreverent humor and over-the-top action sequences make it an enjoyable and entertaining watch. Whether you're a fan of the original "Saturday Night Live" sketches or you've never heard of MacGruber before, this show is definitely worth checking out.
