Lunch Monkeys is a British television sitcom that aired from 2009 to 2011. The show follows the lives of three employees who work in the canteen of a large Manchester-based law firm. The trio consists of nervous wreck and series protagonist, Dev (played by Abdullah Afzal), the lazy and somewhat annoying head chef, Brian (played by Chris Hannon), and the young, naive trainee, Joe (played by Christian Foster).

The show is set in a rather mundane environment, which is the canteen area of the law firm, but the characters and their interactions are what make the show entertaining. The dynamic between the trio is central to the humor of the show, and the series is filled with witty one-liners and gags. The cast members are excellent in their roles, and their performances make the show truly memorable.

Throughout the series, Dev is constantly worried about making mistakes, and his anxiety leads him to carry out constant checks in order to ensure everything is perfect. Brian, on the other hand, is a slacker and isn't interested in putting in any extra effort unless it benefits him in some way. Joe, who is new to the job, wants to please everybody and tries to do everything to the best of his abilities, which often leads to him making mistakes.

The show isn't afraid to tackle tough topics or sensitive issues, such as mental health and racism. Lunch Monkeys tackles these issues with care, presenting them in a way that is easy to understand and never coming across as preachy or heavy-handed.

The show features a range of other characters in addition to the trio, such as the rest of the canteen staff, the law firm employees, and various visitors. Each episode introduces new characters, which keeps the show fresh and exciting. Even characters who only make short appearances, like the boss Mr. Allsopford (played by James Quinn) or Joe's crush, Scarlet (played by Lois Winstone), leave a lasting impression.

The show has a distinctly British sense of humor, and the cast delivers their lines with impeccable timing. The humor is often dry and sarcastic, but there are also plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Many of the gags stem from the characters' idiosyncrasies, which are exaggerated for comedic effect. For example, Dev's tendency to make lists and check everything several times often leads to ridiculous situations.

Lunch Monkeys is also visually striking, with the canteen area being brightly lit and colorful. The set design is impressive, and the show's creators clearly put in a lot of effort to make every detail of the environment believable. The show's creators also use music to great effect, with various well-known tracks used to enhance the humor of certain scenes.

Overall, Lunch Monkeys is an excellent show that is well worth watching. The characters are charming, and the humor is genuinely funny. While the show may not be as well-known as some other British sitcoms, it is every bit as entertaining and well-crafted. If you're a fan of dry humor and quirky characters, then Lunch Monkeys is definitely worth checking out.
