Kagami and Tsukasa are doing their homework together while Konata is playing a video game. Miyuki arrives, and Konata shows her a magazine where she reads about a new anime adaptation of the manga “To Heart”. Konata suggests they watch the anime version of it as well, and they decide to spend their Saturday on a marathon.

On the way to Konata’s house, they run into Patricia, a blonde transfer student from the UK. Patricia recognizes Kagami and Tsukasa as the twins from their class picture, but they don’t remember her and are surprised to hear that she’s been in their class for weeks. Patricia invites the girls to her house for tea, and they exchange phone numbers.

At Konata’s house, they start the anime marathon. Konata and Miyuki are excited to watch it, but Kagami and Tsukasa quickly fall asleep. Konata and Miyuki discuss what makes a good anime image, and Miyuki shares her theory about how the anime characters don’t really need noses because the viewers can imagine they have one.

Later, Konata picks up Patricia in her car, and they go to an arcade. They play shooter games, and Konata notices that Patricia is an expert in them. Konata asks if she’s played any dating sims, but Patricia hasn’t tried them because she thinks they’re boring. Instead, she challenges Konata to a racing game, but Konata crashes her car and loses.

Back at Konata’s house, they go back to the anime marathon. This time, Kagami and Tsukasa are more awake, and they comment on several scenes in the anime. Miyuki explains the role of fan service in anime, and Kagami is surprised that it’s a necessary element. Konata and Miyuki both agree that fan service is preferable when it’s funny.

Finally, the girls finish the marathon, and Konata takes Patricia home. When they arrive, Patricia invites Konata in for some tea. Konata resists because she has to wake up early for school, but Patricia insists, and they sit down to drink tea while they talk about their interests.

As the episode closes, we see Konata wake up early in the morning, but she’s tired from staying up late. She thinks about how she values her time with her friends, even if it means she has to sacrifice her sleep. She imagines a scenario where she’s an anime character who’s running late for school, but she realizes that it’s just a dream and hurries to get ready for school.
