Ep 5. Amy & Chris

Amy and Chris have been living in their home for over 10 years now. With their two kids, they have outgrown their space and feel it's too crowded for them. They need more bedrooms, a bigger kitchen, and a more open living area. They have thought about moving several times, but their neighborhood is close-knit, and they love their neighbors.

After meeting with their real estate agent, they realize that if they were to move, they would have to pay more and move to an unfamiliar neighborhood. They then agree to call in Love It or List It Vancouver designer Jillian Harris and real estate agent Todd Talbot to help solve their problem.

Jillian visits their home and quickly notes that their space needs to be re-organized and perhaps a room addition built. Chris, on the other hand, thinks that he is always fixing the house and that moving might be a better option.

In a bid to understand what they want, Jillian gets to work and starts redesigning the space. Her goal is to expand the kitchen and create an open living space. She also offers Amy and Chris the option of adding a detached guest room in their backyard, which they love.

Todd, on the other hand, researches houses within their area to find them a better deal. After much searching, Todd finally finds a property that Amy loves. It has more space and an open living area. However, it's more expensive than their current home. Chris, on the other hand, is not convinced about the potential new home, being that it's in an older neighborhood and needs more renovation.

Jillian continues her interior design work and brings in new cabinets, reorganizing the entire living space to create more room. She also adds furniture that complements the new design. Meanwhile, Todd works hard to negotiate a better price for the chosen property that Amy loves so much.

Amy and Chris have two weeks to decide whether they want to stay in their current home or move to the new house Todd found. In the final reveal, Jillian presents the newly renovated home, and Amy and Chris are impressed. They love the new kitchen design, extra bedroom, and modern living space.

Then it's Todd's turn, and he shows them around the new house. Amy is blown away by the space and immediately loves it. Chris, on the other hand, has a hard time deciding between the two options.

In the end, Amy and Chris have a heart-to-heart conversation, and they come to a decision. They either have to stay in their much-loved neighborhood and enjoy their newly designed space or move to a more spacious house in a new neighborhood.
