It is summer time and the villa is ready for its newest tenants, hoping to find love and romance. The show starts with an opening montage featuring the gorgeous island of Majorca in Spain and the young, hot and sexy contestants. The contestants are shown in their homes talking about their hopes and dreams of finding love and their excitement about being on Love Island.
Once the contestants arrive at the villa, the show quickly transitions to the introductions where each of the contestants talks about themselves and why they believe they would find love on Love Island. From there on, the show introduces the first few major twists, the most significant being that the public will decide on who stays and who leaves, meaning that contestants could be booted out of the villa at any time. Of course, a number of other twists and turns are promised along the way.
Towards the end of the episode, the contestants are seen mingling and getting to know each other. They are required to couple up as well, a process that will continue as the series progresses. The first candidate to enter the villa is ready to make the biggest decision of all – picking who he will intimate. The decision is complicated by some unique factors, such as the tight timeline and the presence of other contestants, who may pose threats to the new couples’ relationships.
The episode ends with the first recoupling ceremony where the girls get to choose whom they want to be with, and the boys who don’t get chosen are sent packing. The couples are now established, and the couples are ready to explore each other’s personality and to try to find lasting love.
Overall, Love Island season 7 episode 1 does everything that it is supposed to. From the get-go, viewers are immersed in the world of the potential couples, delivered with the style and flair the show is known for. The audience is introduced to a diverse range of characters, each of whom brings a unique personality to the villa. The location, music, and energy are all equally electric. While the episode is more of an introduction to the series, it does a fantastic job of setting the stage and providing a good amount of tension and excitement to keep viewers coming back for more.
