As summer heats up, so does the drama on Love Island season 5 episode 6. The episode begins with Anton and Belle enjoying a date on a sunset yacht ride, getting to know each other better and sharing some passionate kisses. Meanwhile, Tommy and Molly-Mae are having a heart-to-heart about their feelings for each other, with Tommy admitting he's scared of getting hurt and Molly-Mae reassuring him that she's not playing any games.
The next day, it's time for a new challenge: the boys must compete in a "Booty Camp" fitness challenge to win dates with the new girls. While most of the guys struggle, Tommy and Ovie impress everyone with their muscular endurance, earning dates with new Islanders Harley and India, respectively. The rest of the girls are feeling left out, with Maura admitting she's frustrated with the men thinking they can coast by on their looks and not making an effort to get to know the women.
As the day goes on, Anton pulls Molly-Mae aside for a chat and reveals to her that he's attracted to her. Molly-Mae handles it gracefully, telling Anton that she appreciates his honesty but that she's focused on Tommy for now. Anton is disappointed but takes it in stride, admitting in the Beach Hut that he's not surprised but had to shoot his shot.
That night, the Islanders gather around the fire pit to choose which boy they want to go on a date with. Harley chooses Tommy, leaving Molly-Mae a little jealous but understanding. India picks Ovie, and the two hit it off immediately. The other Islanders are left speculating about whether or not Ovie will leave his current partner Anna for India.
The next day, it's time for the weekly challenge, and this one is a total surprise. It turns out that the Islanders' families and friends have sent in secret messages to be read aloud by the group. As each person gets called up to the front, they are handed a phone with a message from their loved ones. Tears and laughter ensue as the Islanders hear from their moms, dads, siblings, best friends, and exes.
For some, the messages bring up old wounds. Michael is clearly touched by a message from his mom, who tells him she's proud of him and misses him. It reminds him of why he's on the show in the first place. But for Maura, a message from her ex-boyfriend rattles her, and she admits to the group that she's feeling very emotional. The other Islanders rally around her, comforting her and reminding her that she's strong and sexy and deserves the best.
As the episode comes to a close, we see Curtis beginning to have doubts about his partnership with Amy. He tells Tommy that he's not sure if he's attracted to her anymore, and that he's feeling like his head has been turned by someone else. Tommy encourages him to be honest with Amy and figure out what he really wants.
Love Island season 5 episode 6 packs a lot of emotional punches in its runtime, with a mix of heartwarming family moments, steamy dates, and tense conversations. As the couples continue to navigate the ups and downs of being in the villa, viewers will be on the edge of their seats wondering who will couple up next and who will be left out in the cold.
