At the start of episode 4 of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta season 8, titled "Case Of The Ex," viewers are introduced to Bambi and Scrappy. The couple is overjoyed at the prospect of expanding their family but is concerned because they have been having trouble getting pregnant. They discuss their options, considering fertility treatments and the possibility of adopting a child. Meanwhile, Sierra is on the verge of breaking up with BK. He has been irking her for a long time, and to add insult to injury, she finds out that he's been lying to her about his past relationships.
Scrappy knows firsthand the complexities of co-parenting as he catches up with Erica regarding their daughter, Emani. Things look up for the estranged couple when Erica reveals that she's enrolled their daughter in a home schooling program where he can be more present in her education from afar. In a separate conversation, Scrappy confides in his mother, Momma Dee, about his growing family with Bambi. He hopes to get her blessing and support, but he's not sure if she'll be happy or disappointed in him.
Meanwhile, things are heating up between Mimi and Spice after their explosive encounter over their rift on Black Lives Matter. Although they have different views on politics, their mutual concern for the Black community is a common ground. Hence, Mimi wants to invite Spice to an event that she's hosting to bring more awareness to their work. Spice thinks this is a kind gesture but believes they will continue to disagree on political matters.
Back at Sierra's house, Shooter comes by to discuss it with BK, Sierra, and her friends. It all seems civil - everyone is listening, and Shooter speaks up for his friend BK. Nevertheless, things take a dramatic turn when Shooter snatches BK's phone after overhearing him talking about Sierra in disrespectful terms.
In another part of town, Yung Joc tries to mend his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Kendra. They meet privately, and Joc delivers a heartfelt apology for his previous actions and philandering ways. Kendra wants to hear it but remains cautious until Joc proves that he is serious about rekindling their love.
Towards the end of the episode, Tokyo joins forces with Sierra as they decide to put Shooter on blast on social media. They record footage of Shooter telling BK how he felt about Sierra, and Tokyo's initial plan was to use it as a lesson on trust. But things escalate quickly when fellow cast member Pooh shows up uninvited at the bar, and all hell breaks loose.
To sum up, this episode sees old flames reconciling, secrets being revealed, friendships turning into feuds, and family dynamics evolving.
