As the season 4 finale of Lost, episode 13 is appropriately titled "There's No Place Like Home (2)" and picks up directly where the previous episode left off. The Oceanic Six are aboard a helicopter attempting to leave the island and return home to the world they once knew, but they are met with a series of obstacles that threaten to keep them stranded on the island forever.
As they fly through a raging storm, Sayid is forced to navigate their flight while Desmond's visions of the future continue to haunt him. The helicopter runs out of fuel, and the group is forced to make an emergency landing on a nearby freighter. There, they encounter some familiar faces and a few new ones, including Naomi's boss, Charles Widmore.
Meanwhile, back on the island, the remaining survivors are forced to deal with the aftermath of the Freighter's arrival. Sawyer, Locke, and Hurley confront Keamy and his team of mercenaries, resulting in a devastating battle that leads to the loss of several lives.
The episode jumps back and forth between the present and the past, providing glimpses of the Oceanic Six's lives prior to the crash and revealing the lengths they went to in order to keep the truth of their time on the island a secret.
With intense action sequences, heartbreaking character moments, and shocking revelations, "There's No Place Like Home (2)" is a fitting conclusion to season 4 and sets the stage for the highly anticipated final chapters of Lost.
