Lopez vs. Lopez is a multi-camera family comedy that follows working-class family man George Lopez, his semi-estranged ex-wife Mayan, and their college-aged daughter Santoshi. They all end up living under one roof again after Mayan inherits her aunt's house in a wealthy neighborhood.

The series stars comedian George Lopez as a dedicated blue-collar dad who works at a battery factory. He adores his daughter Santoshi, played by Selenis Leyva, even as he struggles to connect with her as she starts her freshman year at a prestigious university. Mayan Lopez, played by Mayan Lopez, is George's ex-wife who is climbing the corporate ladder at an aviation company. In the end, Lopez vs. Lopez is as much about family as anything else. George and Mayan will squabble and get frustrated with the situation, but they both care about Santoshi. Being so close in proximity after so many years apart forces them to learn to co-parent under challenging new circumstances. And Santoshi realizes that even though her parents bicker, they've always had her back when she truly needs them.

With its relatable family dynamics and contrasting personalities, Lopez vs. Lopez provides an entertaining look at the complexities of relationships after divorce. George Lopez and Mayan Lopez's natural comedic timing and rapport provide funny moments as their characters reluctantly try to figure out this new phase of their lives. The show ultimately celebrates family, marriage, divorce, parenting, friendship and starting over.
