In the morning Bear thinks he sees one of the bounty hunters that were dogging them in Texas checking out their motorcycles. When he walks away they make a run for it. On the way to Virginia, they meet up with Grady Dyke and then Tony Orband. After a long, hot ride to Virginia Beach, Lance teaches Grady how to surf.
