The episode also includes a heartwarming rescue of a stranded dog. Game warden Herring receives a report of a dog trapped on a small island in a flooded area. When Herring arrives, he is able to rescue the scared and soaking wet dog and reunite it with its grateful owner.
The episode takes a serious turn when game wardens investigate a report of a man shooting at a dove while standing on a public road. When they arrive, they find the man has fled but left behind evidence that he was shooting towards a residential area. The wardens investigate and discover that the man had been lying about his identity and had several outstanding warrants. They team up with local law enforcement to track down and apprehend the dangerous suspect.
As the episode comes to a close, game warden Richards receives a call about a suspicious person camping on the side of the road. When Richards arrives, he finds a man who is acting agitated and paranoid. After questioning the man, Richards discovers that he is a fugitive with a long criminal history and several outstanding warrants. Richards contacts local law enforcement, and the man is taken into custody.
