In Lone Star Law season 10 episode 7, titled "Spying on a Killer," viewers are taken on a thrilling ride through the investigations of Texas game wardens as they work to track down poachers and other wildlife violators.
The episode opens with the wardens responding to a call about a flock of wild turkeys that have been illegally taken in the north-western part of the state. Upon arrival, they find the carcasses of several turkeys, clearly killed by a rifle. The investigation leads them to a nearby property, where they observe a suspicious truck parked outside of a barn. The wardens decide to set up a stakeout and spend the next few hours carefully observing the property.
As night falls, the wardens use night-vision goggles to keep an eye on the barn and the truck. After a few hours, they spot a man walking towards the truck carrying what appears to be a large bag. The wardens spring into action, approaching the man and searching the bag, which is filled with several turkey carcasses.
The man is arrested and taken into custody, where he admits to shooting the turkeys. He tells the wardens that he was planning on selling the meat to a local restaurant.
After finishing up their operation in the north-west, the wardens move on to another investigation involving a group of fishermen who have been illegally taking flounder out of season. The wardens set up surveillance on a popular fishing spot, and it's not long before they spot a group of fishermen pulling in several large flounder.
The wardens move in and confront the group, who deny any wrongdoing. However, upon searching their boat, the wardens find evidence of illegal fishing, including undersized fish and flounder that were caught out of season. The fishermen are issued citations and their catch is seized.
Later in the episode, the wardens receive a tip about a group of hunters who have been illegally using bait to lure deer. The wardens set up surveillance and observe the hunters placing bait near a deer blind. An hour later, a deer approaches the bait and is shot by one of the hunters. The wardens move in and arrest the hunters, who are charged with hunting over bait and for taking a deer out of season.
The final investigation of the episode involves a report of a mountain lion killing a pet. The wardens launch an investigation, using trail cameras and other methods to try and track down the lion. They work with local residents, who report sightings of the animal. After several days of searching, the wardens finally catch sight of the lion and are able to tranquilize it. They transport the animal to a local rehabilitator, who will release it back into the wild once it has recovered.
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to the thrilling and often dangerous work of Texas game wardens as they work to protect the state's wildlife. From stakeouts to surveillance to confrontations with armed poachers, the wardens demonstrate their dedication to their mission of conservation and enforcement of wildlife laws. "Spying on a Killer" is a captivating and action-packed episode that showcases the hard work and bravery of these law enforcement professionals.
