Ep 8. Trick Or Trust

Max is feeling a little frazzled when her ex-boyfriend, Kyle, drops in from California, and the girls decide to cheer her up by throwing a Halloween party. Max is reluctant because she has a bad history with Halloween, starting when she was a kid and lost her chocolate to a bigger boy trick-or-treating. Kyle tells her not to be afraid of Halloween and dresses up as a rabbit to help her.

Over at the Halloween party, Regine rents out the place to a bunch of rowdy college students who leave the house trashed. Meanwhile, Synclaire, Overton, Khadijah, and Tripp struggle to find a way to keep the party from getting out of hand. Synclaire is having trouble with her costume, but Khadijah comes to the rescue and makes her look fabulous. Overton, on the other hand, is dressed as Prince, but no one can seem to figure out who he is supposed to be.

Regine worries about her decision to rent out the place, but her worries worsen when she learns that one of the college kids has disappeared in the house. Fearing that someone might have died, she calls the cops. The police arrive quickly, but they immediately suspect that the girls are responsible for the missing student. Regine, overwhelmed by the possible consequences of her actions, starts to regret her decision.

Meanwhile, Max and Kyle's relationship seems to be rekindling, and they decide to dance the night away. However, as the party continues to escalate, Max and Kyle have a fight, and she realizes that he is not the person she thought he was. She makes a decision to end things with him once and for all.

Eventually, the missing college student is found, and it turns out that he had gone home early without telling anyone. The girls breathe a huge sigh of relief, but the party has left them exhausted. They sit down to talk and unwind, and Khadijah tells Max that Halloween isn't so bad after all. As the night draws to a close, the girls realize that they can always count on each other, no matter how tough things get. They toast to each other and another successful night in their beloved brownstone.
