Meanwhile, Khadijah's two other staff members, Maxine Shaw and Regine Hunter, are busy dealing with their own issues. Maxine is representing a pro bono client in a case that she's passionate about, while Regine is obsessing over her new beau, a wealthy man named Darryl.
As the day progresses, Khadijah finds it increasingly difficult to meet her deadline due to Synclaire's inefficiency. She becomes frustrated and confronts her about it, causing Synclaire to break down and reveal her deepest insecurities. Khadijah, being the compassionate person that she is, decides to mentor Synclaire and helps her regain her confidence.
Meanwhile, Maxine's pro bono client's case takes an unexpected turn, forcing her to work late into the night. Regine, on the other hand, is disappointed when she realizes that Darryl is not as perfect as she thought he was and decides to end things with him.
