Maxine (Erika Alexander) and Khadijah (Queen Latifah) are watching a basketball game excitedly, but their friend Synclaire (Kim Coles) isn't swept up in the excitement. Max is rooting for the Knicks, and Khadijah is cheering on the Bulls. Max is so sure that the Knicks are going to win that she gets Khadijah to bet $50 on the outcome of the game. Synclaire finally gets in on the action and puts her money on the Knicks as well to win.
Over in the other room, Regine (Kim Fields) is suffering from a bad breakup, so she decides to make herself feel better by going on an online shopping spree. Nina (Kim Cole) tries to help ease Regine's discomfort by saying that she'll take her out to the hottest club in town, but Regine is not in the mood for a night out. She opts to stay in and drown her sorrows in some retail therapy.
Back with Max, Khadijah, and Synclaire, the tension is mounting as the game unfolds and the scores are neck and neck. The three friends start spending absurd amounts of time chanting and pacing around the living room, trying to will their team to victory. When the Knicks win the game, Synclaire can't believe her luck. She has never won so much money before.
The next day, Max's cousin Danny comes to town to visit and meets Regine. He is immediately smitten with her and asks her out on a date. Regine is hesitant at first but finally agrees to go out with Danny. The other girls in the house think that Danny is a catch and are excited for Regine, but Synclaire is not so sure about Danny.
Synclaire starts to ask Danny questions about his past and tries to see if he is worth Regine's time. Danny, however, is unimpressed with Synclaire's line of questioning and gets defensive. Khadijah sees what's happening and steps in to diffuse the situation. Khadijah tells Danny that Synclaire is just looking out for Regine and that they all want what's best for her. Danny takes a breath and decides to give Synclaire a chance, and she quickly realizes that he's a good guy.
Meanwhile, Max and Kyle (T.C. Carson) have been having a secret love affair. They're never quite sure when the other person is going to get tired of their relationship and move on, so they keep it surprisingly low-key. However, after Max tells Khadijah about her hookup with Kyle, Khadijah tells Kyle to either take things to the next level or end the relationship. Kyle realizes that he's in love with Max and decides to take the plunge by telling Max how he feels.
The episode ends on a high note as Khadijah, Synclaire, Regine, Max, and Kyle are all sitting around, enjoying each other's company. They all realize that they truly are living single, and that they should appreciate the good times they share together.
