Ep 20. Californi-a-Rooney

In Liv and Maddie season 3 episode 20, titled "Californi-a-Rooney," the Rooney family takes a trip to California. Liv is excited to be back in her hometown to see her old friends and former co-star, Winston, while Maddie is eager to attend a meeting with a famous movie director who is interested in making a film about her basketball team.

As soon as they arrive, Liv heads out to reunite with her old friends and show Winston around her favorite spots. However, she soon realizes that things have changed since she left. Winston is now into yoga and meditation and doesn't want to do anything she used to do together. Liv starts to feel left out and alone as she tries to fit into his new lifestyle.

Meanwhile, Maddie attends the meeting with the movie director, but soon discovers that he's not interested in making a movie about her basketball team. Instead, he wants to make a gritty drama about the struggles of inner-city teens. Maddie is disappointed but decides to take on the challenge and helps the director make a documentary about her team's community service work. She starts to see the bigger picture and the impact she can make beyond basketball.

Back in California, Joey and Parker are on a mission to find the ultimate smoothie. They try every smoothie place in town but can't seem to find the one they're looking for. When they finally discover the perfect place, they end up getting into a competition with the smoothie shop owner, who claims his smoothie is better. The competition leads to funny and chaotic situations, but eventually, they both come to realize that the best smoothie is the one they make with their mom.

As the family starts to leave California, Liv and Winston finally have a heart-to-heart talk. Liv realizes that people change and that it's okay to move on. She tells Winston that it's important to stay true to yourself, no matter what. Winston takes her advice to heart and starts to see things in a new light.

In the end, the Rooney family heads back to Wisconsin, with Liv and Maddie feeling inspired and rejuvenated from their experiences in California. They know that no matter where they go, they will always find a way to make new memories and learn new things.
