Ep 17. Helicopter Dad

Blythe Baxter is excited for her best friend Sue's visit as she is due to arrive anytime soon. While waiting for her, Blythe gets a call from her dad, who informs her that he won't be able to make it to Blythe's big day as he is on a special mission and can't disclose anything more. Blythe understands the situation but is a little disappointed that her dad won't be there to witness her accomplishments.

Over at Littlest Pet Shop, a helicopter arrives, and out steps a renowned pilot, Captain Cuddleson, who turns out to be Sue's dad. Sue is excited to see her father, but her mood changes when Captain Cuddleson starts acting overprotective and controlling, not allowing Sue to have any freedom or even visit Blythe's apartment alone. Meanwhile, the pets have a new visitor in the form of a stray dog named Whittany Biskit, who becomes an instant hit with the LPS gang.

Blythe tries to help Sue out with her dad's behavior, but it seems that Captain Cuddleson has no intention of taking advice or listening to reason. He even starts concocting elaborate plans to protect Sue, which ends up causing a ruckus around the city. Blythe becomes increasingly worried about Sue's safety but has no clue on how to deal with Captain Cuddleson.

The pets devise a plan to sneak Sue out of the shop and have some fun time in the park. But things take a turn for the worse when Captain Cuddleson catches up to them and grounds his daughter indefinitely. Blythe urges Captain Cuddleson to let Sue go out and have some fun, and after some back-and-forth, he agrees to allow Sue to attend Blythe's ceremony but on a strict curfew.

On the day of Blythe's ceremony, everything seems to be going smoothly until the pets realize that the helicopter in which Captain Cuddleson was supposed to arrive has gone missing. Blythe fears the worst, but Sue assures her that her dad has always been able to pull through in the stickiest situations. Soon enough, Captain Cuddleson lands the helicopter, but it turns out that he had flown through a storm to get there.

Blythe and Sue both get honored at the ceremony, and Captain Cuddleson looks on proudly as his daughter receives her well-deserved award. He even admits that maybe he's been overprotective, and it's time for him to let go a bit. Sue and Blythe embrace each other, and the pets cheer them on, happy for the two friends who have been through so much together. The episode ends with Captain Cuddleson taking Whittany under his wing and adopting her as his new copilot, much to the excitement of the pets.
