In the debut episode of "Little Mosque on the Prairie," we meet Amaar Rashid, a young and modern imam who has just arrived in the small town of Mercy, Saskatchewan. Amaar is surprised to find that the local Muslim community has been holding their prayers in the basement of a church, and sets out to find a more suitable location for their mosque.
Meanwhile, we also meet the residents of Mercy, including the mayor Ann Popowicz and her son, the local DJ. Ann is skeptical of the mosque and worries about how it will impact the town's way of life, while her son is more interested in dating a Muslim girl he meets at the mosque.
As Amaar works to find a permanent location for the mosque, he must navigate the cultural differences between himself and the townspeople. From his unorthodox approach to prayer to his taste in music, Amaar finds himself constantly at odds with the more conservative Muslims in the community. At the same time, he also struggles to balance his duties as an imam with his desire to fit in and make friends in his new home.
Despite the challenges they face, both Amaar and the community soon begin to find common ground. As they work together to build their new mosque, they discover more about each other's cultures and backgrounds, and start to form bonds that will continue to grow over the course of the series.
Overall, "Little Mosque on the Prairie" is a heartwarming and humorous look at how different communities can come together and learn from each other. With a cast of lovable characters and a relatable storyline, it's a show that is sure to keep viewers coming back week after week.
