However, things quickly get complicated when one of the teams is short one player. With an odd number of players, the students decide to play a game of "piggy in the middle" instead.
The group playing piggy in the middle consists of a mix of characters, including Rory, Atticus, Debra-Jo, Tamara, and Battie. As they toss the ball around, they soon realize that their game is being disrupted by an unexpected visitor: a crow who seems intent on stealing the ball.
Throughout the episode, the students attempt to outsmart the bird, but it continually eludes them and even starts wreaking havoc on the school playground. The crow's antics create several humorous moments that are sure to delight young viewers.
In addition to the crow drama, the episode also explores some of the social dynamics of the group. For example, when Josh arrives late to the game, he insists on being on a different team than the one his friends are on. This leads to some tensions and hurt feelings, as the other students feel like he's not valuing their friendship.
Despite the conflict, the students eventually come together and decide to form a new team that includes everyone. They work together to try to beat the crow at its own game and successfully send it packing.
As with previous episodes, "Episode 5" of Little Lunch offers a lighthearted look at middle school life, showcasing the ups and downs of childhood friendships and the challenges that young people face.
